The Bible Course

Overview

At the core and centre of every human is the heart.  This is true physically and spiritually.  It is in the human heart that God builds His kingdom and it is from the heart that all expressions of life, worship and music flow.  It is this element of every student, that we are most interested in.  Nexus is far  more than a 'Christian' version of one of the secular contemporary music schools; it is a kingdom community of musicians dedicated to submitting themselves to God.  We look to encourage students to know God for themselves and understand how that affects every area of their life. 

We do this in many ways, and currently it is done with Bible classes of which students have two a week and an additional discovery group session where ideas can be unpacked in a smaller group.  Here is a brief outline of each session:

BIBLE OVERVIEW - An exploration of the whole Bible in terms of both its content and impact.  Students are given an overview from Genesis through to Revelation with the goal of gaining an understanding of each book's context and how it applies to their life today.

BIBLE THEMES - An unfolding of the main themes that run throughout scripture focussing on what it reveals about God, us and our common purpose as God's people.  Topics that are covered include; Names and attributes of God, Salvation and the Church.

BIBLE DISCOVERY - With the oversight of a staff member, students can delve deeper into God's word, build strong relationships and learn what it means to be a disciple of Christ in a smaller group setting.  They meet to look at various areas of Christian life with the goal of maturing as a believer and understanding what it is to walk with Christ more accurately.
