There are a lot of people that just get by as guitar players but few that really take the time and effort to develop their gifting. Ability alone will only take you so far but to truly excel on your instrument you need a structured, well thought out course and the right teachers to help you maximise your potential. The Nexus guitar course delivers both of these and more.
You will be taught to be a well rounded, knowledgeable, technically competent and creative musician able to flourish in any number of situations.
The heart behind the course is to open students’ minds to how music works, how the guitar has grown and evolved throughout popular music history, the wide versatility of the guitar and how to express this creatively and musically.
Rich Hall

Rich started playing the guitar aged 9 years and soon after started his first band. He learnt both classical guitar (achieving ABRSM grade 8 in 1995) and electric guitar and went on to study BA/Hons popular music studies at Bretton Hall - part of Leeds University.
Rich came to Nexus in 2001 having already been working as a freelance guitar and drum tutor for 4 different county council music services in the midlands. He initially came on board as tutor on both the guitar and drum courses before taking over the role of head of guitar department in 2003.
This clip shows guitar tutor Rich Hall performing Waves by Guthrie Govan. Rich is being accompanied by other Nexus staff members at the Nexus Staff concert in 2010.
This clip features guitar tutor Rich Hall playing in one of our Staff Concerts. We included 'Beat it' as part of a pop medley and thought we would share the solo with you. More clips are coming soon so keep an eye on our youtube page!
