Rich Hall
Head of Musical Studies
Guitar Tutor
How long have you been at Nexus?
Since 2001 - I originally came on board teaching in both the drums & guitar course splitting my time between the two.
What is your favourite part about working at Nexus?
It's definitely the community aspect amongst the staff & students. It's such a privilege to come to work in such a supportive, loving and friendly environment. The team are not just colleagues but more like a family.
What is the one thing you would like to do before you die?
I would love to do a track day in a variety of fast cars and would love to take my wife for a trip on the orient express.
Musically, it would be great to take the Rich Hall experience on the road....with an orchestra!
What is your major achievement to date?
Together with my wife bringing a family of 3 children into the world.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Reading, writing & recording music (when I get some spare time?) and above all spending time with my family, going out into the countryside & National Trust properties.
What are people surprised to learn about you?
That I used to teach on the drum course
If you could write a book, what would it be about?
There seems to be a gap in the market for an organised, well structured and comprehensive guide to learning guitar - to take you from beginner to advanced and teach you everything you need to know and properly.
What is currently on your itunes playlist?
I have just recently been listening to the Paloma Faith album. It's really rather good; refreshingly different.
In two sentences or less, how has your faith changed you?
God has given me correct sight and perspective on myself and my potential in Christ and his purposes on the earth and has taken me from an inaccurate, deficient self image toward a more accurate sight of the person God has designed me to be.
