How long have you been at Nexus?
I was a vocal student for 2 years from 2008-2010 and then stayed on as a part-time volunteer for a year before becoming full-time staff this year.

What is your favourite part about working at Nexus?
I love working in a place where I can fully trust and support the directors, where I continue to be stretched and where I can be a part of the lives and growth of other staff and students. I also love being in a musical environment, there is so much resource here!

What is the one thing you would like to do before you die?
Have children!

What is your major achievement to date?
Having increased control over my emotions! Becoming a Kitchen!

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Spending time with my wonderful husband and friends, singing, cooking, laughing etc.

What are people surprised to learn about you?
That I grew up on hip-hop music and that I once was the lead rapper in a performance of ‘Where is The Love’ by the Black Eyed Peas live on stage, complete with actions and ‘uh’ ‘yeah’ ‘check it’.

If you could write a book, what would it be about?
Probably a cook book of all my favourite recipes.

What is currently on your itunes playlist?
Leah McFall, an artist I met at a festival. Tom’s Sister, my friend Chloe’s band and the cd from a Church called Precision Centre.
I also like Jill Scott, Idia Arie, Beyonce and gospel music.

In two sentences or less, how has your faith changed you?
I would say that knowing God has caused me both to examine my own heart and to look outside myself both at Him for resource and at others, valuing them more. It’s also caused me to see the world in a completely different way and to restructure what I value and how I respond to situations.
