Kirsty

How long have you been at Nexus?
I graduated the vocal course in 2007, and stayed on to do an internship & third year before starting work here in September 2009.

What is your favourite part about working at Nexus?
Getting to work with such quality people & seeing the change that takes place in the students each year. It is such an incredible place to spend a year - I love watching people get as much out of it as I did in my first year!

What is the one thing you would like to do before you die?
I would really like to get brave enough to do something a bit wacky, like sky diving or bungee-jumping but I am a bit of a wimp at the moment, so alternatively I would love to perform in a Musical! That would be unbelievable.

What is your major achievement to date?
I once did a pretty spectacular Obi Wan Kenobi impression! And I've never even seen Star Wars!

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Drinking tea! I love it! I’m a pretty big reader too, I can quite happily read a book a day. And I love hanging washing on the line outside! Oh, and I quite like doing little crafty things, you can make some pretty special gifts with just a little time and patience!

What are people surprised to learn about you?
I played the steel pans for five years!

If you could write a book, what would it be about?
The secret life of Howie Ford (that’s my car). He has a lot of adventures, and I think it would make a pretty good children’s book, maybe even a tv series.

What is currently on your itunes playlist?
I don’t actually have itunes! But I am totally loving Jennifer Hudson & Alicia Keys at the moment. Incredible!

In two sentences or less, how has your faith changed you?
I have perspective now, my life isn't just about how happy I am and how much enjoyment I can get from it. I know how to live a life that is both full and enriching, but that at the same time see's the bigger picture; how sometimes I need to do things I don't want to do; how my relationship with God and the decisions I make absolutely impact the people around me; and how by being obedient in these things my life is even better!
