Where do students live?
Students live in rented houses near to Nexus, with other Nexus students usually in a house of 4-6. We work with several local landlords around Coventry that we have built good relationships with over the last several years.
Is it guaranteed that I will be placed in a Nexus house?
No. We place most of our students in Nexus houses, but for applicants that apply very close to our start date we cannot guarantee a place in a Nexus house. We will do everything we can to work out our housing situation to accommodate you, but cannot guarantee housing for everyone.
Are the houses furnished?
Yes. All Nexus houses are furnished and checked twice a year to ensure suitability. Each student will have their own bedroom, with shared kitchen, lounge and bathroom. All kitchens are fitted with white goods – cooker, washing machine, fridge and freezer (some have microwaves). We assign students to houses over the summer and put them in touch with landlords before they arrive for the start of term so any necessary arrangements can be made and contracts sorted out for the start of term. Students are required to sign a 10 month contract up until the end of July.
Do I live with other Nexus students?
Yes. If you choose to be placed in Nexus housing, then you will be placed with 2-5 other students of the same sex.
How much does accommodation cost?
Rent is approximately £260 per month. This doesn’t include food & other living costs.
Do I have to live in Nexus Housing if I become a Nexus Student?
No, you are free to find your own accommodation if you wish.
